Gold

Pure gold is soft and therefore alloyed with other metals in order to create a functional piece. Unlike silver, gold is resistant to chemical reactions and does not tarnish.

Gold in its natural form is yellow. Colored gold alloys such as white gold or gold with a reddish hue are created by adding other metals like copper, silver, and nickel.

Materials & Gemstones

Sterling silver consists of 92.5% pure silver (therefore also termed 925 silver).

Other metals like copper are added, as pure silver is too malleable to form and hold the shape of the piece.

Rhodium plating is used in order to avoid tarnishing of the silver.
